Desencaminharte'18 is a project that aims to create synergies between territory, art, culture and population, in a dynamic of intermunicipal network involvement. The ultimate goal is the search for an integrated approach to Land Art. This project joins 10 municipalities that make up the region of Alto Minho: Arcos de Valdevez, Caminha, Melgaço, Monção, Paredes de Coura, Ponte da Barca, Ponte de Lima, Valença, Viana do Castelo and Vila Nova de Cerveira. All the municipalities were responsible for identifying the most challenging places for artistic intervention.
DES’18 aimed to put art in dialogue with the territory and with the population, to enhance its mission of public service - democratic art, open and thought as a human and local scale. By doing so, it aimed to transmit to citizens the notion of belonging in a rural and urban community. It also intended to assume itself as a platform for the gathering and collaboration of Artists, to join their generosity and willingness to increase this project with knowledge and creativity, contributing to the valorization of the Alto Minho and promoting it as a cosmopolitan and informed region.
